Stargazer 10.5-Inch Cast Iron Skillet

Founded in 2015, Stargazer is an American manufacturer of cast iron cookware based in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Our highly acclaimed skillets are renowned for their smooth surface finish and modern, practical design, engineered for exceptional performance.

Stargazer Cast Iron was established in 2015 by housewares designer Peter Huntley. Dissatisfied with the lack of quality and accountability in modern goods produced overseas, Huntley set out to build a product and company adhering to higher standards. Convinced that people deserve access to well-designed, high-quality cast iron at a reasonable price, he designed the first Stargazer skillet after six months of intensive development.

Stargazer skillets begin their journey at our foundry, where domestically sourced, primarily recycled iron is melted at 2,800°F. The molten iron is refined, checked for purity, and then poured into molds made of sand and clay through a process called "green sand" casting. Once cooled, the molds are released, leaving behind a solid, raw casting. These raw castings are then individually loaded into a custom-built fixture and CNC machined across the entire interior surface, allowing us to precisely dial in the optimal weight and thickness. This meticulous process is the first step towards creating a cooking surface that is naturally non-stick and easy to clean.

The skillets then undergo a hand-finishing process in Allentown, where our craftsmen use a series of tools to grind and smooth any burrs or other artifacts remaining from casting and machining. After being meticulously shaped by hand, each skillet undergoes our proprietary two-step surface finish treatment, yielding the smooth, micro-textured cooking surface that has made Stargazer famous.

After a final inspection, each skillet is packed in a box made just a couple of miles from our factory, and orders ship from our headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Stargazer cookware is built to last many lifetimes, and cleaning cast iron is easy - simply allow the skillet to cool, rinse under hot water, and dry thoroughly.

Our skillets are 100% non-toxic, made of grey iron, and tested multiple times to ensure freedom from toxins and heavy metals. We use a blend of vegetarian, non-GMO, and allergen-free oils for our seasoning, which is certified kosher.
