The story of Justin Boots began in 1879 when H.J. Justin, a boot repairman, moved to Spanish Fort, Texas and started his own boot company. He soon relocated to Nocona, Texas, capitalizing on a larger market after a railroad was built in the area. In 1908, Justin Boots became a true family company when H.J.'s sons, Earl and Avis, joined the business.

Over the years, the company's combined efforts led to significant growth, and by 1920, Justin Boots was being sold in 26 states, as well as Mexico, Canada, and Cuba. After H.J.'s death in 1918, his sons moved the company headquarters to Fort Worth, Texas, where it still operates today.
